Short Bio

Trained in goldsmithing and painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Perugia, Giovanna has built an international career at the intersection of visual art and high-profile decoration. Co-founder of the multimedia workshop B.A.U. in Umbria and later of the studio Follie Barocche studio in the Netherlands, the artist has collaborated for years with prestigious interior design studios, creating artistic decorative interventions. Her pictorial research is an evolving language that inhabits the boundary between figurative and abstract, understood as two sides of the same coin. Through material experimentation which combines different signs, colours and media, Somai pursues a visual harmony aimed at the search for Beauty, translating emotions and messages of social criticism into compositions of refined aesthetic balance.
