MICHELINO IORIZZO
Short Bio
My art is a necessity. Imagination nourishes me every day, and I can’t help but make it real. Michelino’s pictorial research is rooted in traditional techniques, with a masterful use of tempera and oil on wood, often enriched by the application of paper to layer the pictorial material.
At the heart of his poetics lies portraiture: faces that are often imaginary or resurface from memory, which the artist reinterprets to capture the imperceptible. His stylistic signature focuses on freezing the moment — a blink of an eye in the flow of existence — to give it an aura of eternity through dense, cultured and deeply evocative painting.
